1.      Watershed Plan 

q       The Planning Unit reviewed the water quantity options (pages 33-60 of the Issues and Options) and developed draft recommendations (attached as a separate document).

 

2.      Prioritize Stream Gauges for the WRIA 

q       The PU prioritized the following stream gauges for WRIA 14:

ü       Kennedy Creek

ü       Sherwood Creek

ü       A suitable stream in upper Oakland Bay

q       Ecology will consider these priorities in distributing new stream gauges throughout the state.

 

3.      Hydro-Geo Project

q       The PU authorized NW Land and Water to spend the remaining $5,000 in the geo-chemistry task. 

q       The PU also requested that NWLW gather an additional sample from the Ninth Street well in Shelton to develop a groundwater fingerprint.  Susan will check with Jim to determine if this can be done within the remaining budget.

 

4.      Upcoming Meetings

q       The next PU meeting will be on Wednesday, July 27th from 2:30-4:30 at the Shelton Civic Center.

q       There will also be a Planning Unit meeting on Wednesday, August 3rd from 2:30-4:30 at the Shelton Civic Center.  This meeting is in lieu of the meeting scheduled for August 10th, which has been CANCELLED.

q       There will NOT be a Planning Unit meeting on August 24th; however, there will be meeting for those interested in developing a package of water quality recommendations for consideration by the Planning Unit.  This meeting will be held at Taylor Shellfish; details on the time and directions will be sent later.
