1.
Presentation
by NW Land and Water on the Hydro-geologic Study
q Jim
Mathieu and Laura Strauss of NW Land and Water briefed the Planning Unit on the
draft Hydro-Geo study in the Shelton-Johns Creek area.
q The study
assessed surface and groundwater continuity within the study area.
q Comments
on the draft report are due to Susan by Monday, November 28th.
q The Tribe
is willing to continue the monitoring conducted by NW Land and Water as much as
possible. It may make more sense for the City to monitor its own well. All of the data collected will be sent to
Ecology to be entered into EIMS.
2.
Watershed
Plan
q The
Planning Unit developed a draft recommendation for management of on-site sewage
and modified the recommendation on monitoring (attached as a separate
document).
q Comments
on the draft plan are due to Susan no later than Wednesday, November 23rd.
3.
Draft
Public Involvement Materials
q Bob
Simmons demonstrated a draft PowerPoint presentation that will be used to brief
community groups on the watershed plan.
q Planning
Unit members provided comments on the draft presentation.
q Bob will
finalize the presentation based on these comments.
4.
Oakland
Bay Downgrade
q The Tribe
is conducting testing to help determine the source of the increased
contamination of Oakland Bay. John
should have more information on the results of this testing at a future
meeting.
5.
Upcoming Meetings
q The
Planning Unit meeting originally scheduled for November 23rd has
been rescheduled to November 30th.
The meeting on Wed. Nov. 30th will be from 9-12 at the
Shelton Civic Center.
q There will
also be a Planning Unit meeting on Wednesday, December 14th from
