1.      Watershed Plan

q       Nancy has completed all of the options for the plan; comments are due to Susan by Wednesday, June 22nd (the date of the next Planning Unit meeting).

q       The comments should focus on accuracy/thoroughness of the description of each option; they should NOT include opinions.  Opinions should be raised during the development of the recommendations.  Many of the options are controversial and have PU members who don’t like them; the options merely list the options the PU considered.  The recommendations will be limited to those options for which the PU reached consensus.

q       The PU decided to postpone discussion of stormwater options until representatives from the Departments of Ecology and Transportation are present at the meeting.

q       The PU discussed options EF-1 through SL-14 and developed preliminary, draft recommendations (included as a separate document).

q       Jeanne, Allan and Theresa were requested to e-mail Susan charts on the current City/County regulations for riparian buffers (stream type, buffer distance, etc.)

q       WDFW (Chad?) is also requested to provide information on WDFW regulations.

2.      Updates

q       NW Land and Water has completed its work at the Port.

q       The storage project has not yet started work at the Port.

q       Virtually all of the grants and contracts expire on June 30th (the end of the biennium) and will need a no-cost extension. Susan is working with Bob Fink on this.

q       The TMDL for Oakland Bay is proceeding.  There may be a meeting of the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) immediately before or after an upcoming Planning Unit meeting to make it easier for PU members to attend.

3.      Upcoming Meetings

q       The next Planning Unit meeting will be on Wednesday, June 22nd, from 2:30-4:30 at the Shelton Civic Center.  There will also be a PU meeting on Wednesday, July 14th from 10-12 at the Shelton Civic Center.
